Selenite
A stone of clarity, peace and gentle energy.
With its delicate white, translucent appearance and soft, luminous glow, Selenite has an almost ethereal quality. Its name comes from Selene, the Greek goddess of the Moon, reflecting the stone’s natural association with moonlight and serenity. Despite its gemstone-like appearance, Selenite is a variety of gypsum and is notably soft and delicate.
Traditionally associated with clarity, purification and peace, Selenite is often seen as a stone for creating a calm and harmonious atmosphere. Its clean, luminous appearance symbolises the clearing of mental clutter and making space for stillness, reflection and a renewed sense of balance.
It is also connected with intuition, spiritual awareness and inner peace. In crystal traditions, Selenite is often chosen when seeking a quieter mind, deeper reflection or a stronger connection with one's inner self. Its gentle energy is thought to encourage mindfulness and create a sense of lightness.
A stone for slowing down, clearing the noise and returning to a place of quiet clarity — soft in appearance, yet deeply symbolic of peace and renewal.
